The KWPN Stallion Show
If you've never been the KWPN Stallion Show in den Bosch, the Netherlands it really is time you start planning for your visit for next year's event. This event leaves no stone unturned for a great outing with horse as well as non horsey friends.

Some years [most of them] I find myself struggle with the season premiere of what ever event I go to. It is like the Christmas Holidays make ones fingers, and technical skills fly out the window.
The 2025 KWPN Stallion Show in den Bosch, the Netherlands was no exception to that rule. This year my faithful Panasonic Lumix video camera decided to call it quits and stopped focusing. WTF!
That was not how I was planning it. But then again, you live, you learn. Sometimes things are just too old and need to be replaced. If one [me] doesn't realise this, and or admit to this on time, things like this happen.
Anyhow, I lived to tell the tale which is something.
The 100% non equinista!
Back to the show, I can only grade it a five star event. Always was, and always will. At least one can hope for the latter.
Is it 100% perfect, and do I jump for joy for all the different things offered on the agenda?
Heck no, but in my book it still sits pretty secure on the tiny little hill with some other high profile five star events.
To me a five star event is the kind of event that offers a bit of everything for just about anybody. Like an event where I can bring my oldest and closest BFF, who happens to be a 100% non equinista, and still she'll have a blast!
KWPN Stallion Show
If you never been, you have to start planning for next year. Cause the KWPN Stallion Show is so much more than just a stallion show.
The influencers
One of the things I love the most when heading out to cover an event is to catch up and meet old and new friends. This year in den Bosch I did not run into that many people I know. At least not outside of the media pack.
In one case I actually bolted in the opposite direction when seeing someone that I really didn't want any interaction with. But in two other cases I was absolutely thrilled to run into two of the coolest influencers I know. One of them being old school, the other one being quite modern.
The old school influencer - the kind that comes with tons of knowledge - is Mr. Chris Hector. Hector runs THM, The Horse Magazine, Australia. I love this man to death. We had sat through many events, and had a lot of fun over the years, and let me tell you this. We need more Chris Hectors in the world.

The quite modern influencer was Kristy Snepvangers. This girl not only knows how to work social media [and does it amazingly good], she is also a very much talented rider who comes out of a true horse family.
Myself followed her around most of her career, and still remember when she launched her first ever vlog episode.
The business she build around herself and the brand she built at such a young age is pretty amazing. Also amazing is she seems to maintain both feet on the ground while also living the dream.

The stallions
I followed the 1.20m Blom Stallion class. As always an interesting event.
Martingale
Future star
Positive
Mouthy, capacity, nice jump off
Uncomplicated but small
Easy going
Stunning horse, awful rider making him front heavy
These were some of the comments I made over these horses during the class. But.. I really wish the one about the martingale had not been necessary.
How a rider, that competes show jumping Nations Cups doesn't even know how to fit a martingale really is way and beyond. Totally cringe. Besides this minor [yet dangerous] detail, most of the stallions in this class were absolutely top notch.
I am pretty sure at hand full will come out as future stars. Even though maybe not as much as breeding stallions as show jumping mega stars.
And me, I will come back next year and then have both the photos and video to show for.
