Michèle George grabs 'Performance of the Year' title

Michèle George was honoured at the Equigala, the annual gala evening celebrating Belgian equestrian sports. The double Paralympic dressage champion received the evening's top award.

Michèle George grabs 'Performance of the Year' title

With her 6th and 7th Paralympic titles, 2024 was another exceptional year for the 51-year-old George. She was also presented with the Performance of the Year trophy at the Equigala.

Other awards included Mathieu Bourdeaud'hui [show jumping] as 'Rookie of the Year', the Belgian Olympic dressage team as 'Team of the Year', and 'Athletes of the Year', awarded to Lara de Liedekerke [eventing] and Gilles Thomas [show jumping].

The 'Horse of the Year' award went to Intermezzo van het Meerdaalhof BWP (Gribaldi x Balzflug) [dressage].

Dressage rider Flore De Winne and driver Dries Degrieck received special jury prizes. Jean-Jacques Matthijs, the former chef d’équipe of the Belgian youth show jumping team, was honored with a 'Lifetime Achievement Award'.
