Landmark Agreement for Irish Horse Board in China

The Irish Horse Board (IHB) recently marked a historic milestone in Beijing with its first official meeting with the China Horse Industry Association (CHIA).

Landmark Agreement for Irish Horse Board in China

Hosted at the Irish Embassy by Dr. Nicholas O’Brien, the event brought together key representatives from both nations to advance in an equestrian collaboration.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the IHB and CHIA, fostering trade opportunities, knowledge exchange, and stronger ties between Ireland and China’s growing equestrian sector.

The agreement aligns with China’s National Equine Industry Development Plan (2020-2025) and reinforces Ireland’s reputation as a leader in horse breeding and sport horse development.

The event also highlighted a proposed Cappa Stud project in China, featuring a world-class equestrian facility, a five-star hotel, and an Irish cultural village.

Attended by government officials and industry figures, the reception celebrated international cooperation and the future of Irish-Chinese relations in the horse industry.

The agreement is expected to create new opportunities for Irish breeders, trainers, and equestrian professionals while supporting China’s equine ambitions.
