Flanders Embryo Auction thunders on to Sentower Park

While the Flanders Foal Auction team departs from the Emirates with 22 embryos sold at an average price of €27,222, the next collection has been published online.

Flanders Embryo Auction thunders on to Sentower Park
Flanders Embryo Auction has already auctioned two embryos from Kirby de Muze (Nabab de Reve) for €82,000 and €90,000 and now offers an Emerald embryo out of this 1.50m mare.

On Saturday evening, February 1, a Flanders Embryo Auction will take place at Sentower Park in Belgium. “Yes, close together, but we still had many interesting embryos to offer, and this was the most suitable date, during a CSI2* show that is already fully booked,” say Luk Van Puymbroeck and Gerald Lenaerts.

The new collection offers great diversity once again. Four embryos come directly from Grand Prix mares, eight have a granddam that jumped at 1.50m level or higher. Ten embryos have a dam that produced at least one Grand Prix horse. Out of the 25 embryos, 17 have a granddam that produced one or more 1.50m-1.65m Grand Prix horses.

Four from Ermitage Kalone

Ermitage Kalone leads the collection with four offspring, followed by Cornet Obolensky and Comme il Faut (3 each), and Emerald, Heartbreaker and Balou du Reventon (2 each).

“The pedigrees are very promising once again. It is going to be an exciting evening, as expectations are high.”

The United Touch embryo comes from the half-sister of Major Tom (1.70m Grand Prix with Rodrigo Pessoa) and two other 1.60m Grand Prix horses.

From exceptional mares

There are numerous highlights to mention. For example, the United Touch embryo comes from the half-sister of top horses Major Tom (1.70m Grand Prix with Rodrigo Pessoa) and Nabab de Revel (1.60m Grand Prix with Lars Nieberg). An Ermitage Kalone embryo has the same dam as Impress K-van Kattenheye, who won the 1.60m GCLT Grand Prix in Riesenbeck last year with Thibeau Spits. The Carambole x Indoctro embryo is the full sibling of Hello Senator, the 1.65m Grand Prix horse with Scott Brash.

Kirby de Muze

“The Emerald embryo out of Kirby de Muze also deserves special mention. Kirby herself jumped at 1.50m level, and we have previously auctioned two of her embryos in Abu Dhabi and Italy for €82,000 and €90,000, which remains our record. Granddam Heroine de Muze jumped 1.60m Grand Prix and produced four 1.60m Grand Prix horses, including Levis de Muze. Very interesting indeed!”
