2025 Set to Be a New Top Year at Gothenburg Horse Show
This weekend, top-level sport returns once again to the Gothenburg Horse Show. Several of the top ten riders from the latest world ranking in show jumping will be present.

"It's incredibly exciting and, of course, a great source of pride," says competition director Tomas Torgersen.
The international show jumping classes begin on Thursday, February 20. The highly praised Gothenburg audience will be thrilled by the big names lining up on the entry list.
Swedish home stars, including world number one Henrik von Eckermann, Peder Fredricson, and Wilma Hellström, have already confirmed their participation, and they will be joined by many other top riders.
Steve Guerdat, who won the World Cup Final in Gothenburg in 2016 and 2019, has claimed both Olympic gold and silver individually. Currently ranked second in the world, he is one of the GHS audience's top favorites.
Martin Fuchs recently won the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup in Bordeaux. The 2022 World Cup Final winner in Leipzig, Fuchs also boasts numerous prestigious Grand Prix victories from the biggest arenas. GHS 2025 welcomes these two dream competitors.
"I dare say this is the best starting field we've had since the 2019 World Cup Final," says competition director Tomas Torgersen.
And the list of world stars doesn't stop there. Austria's Max Kühner, ranked ninth in the Longines World Ranking, is on the entry list. Kevin Staut, who leads the Western European League of the FEI Jumping World Cup, and Robert Whitaker, currently fourth in the same league, will both compete at GHS.
Willem Greve, Maikel van der Vleuten, and Yuri Mansur were early additions to the list. Lars Kersten, last year's World Cup winner in Gothenburg, will also return. In total, 49 top show jumpers have been confirmed, making up a complete and competitive starting field.
Walking up the ramp into Scandinavium to meet the cheers of the GHS audience is a powerful moment for both international and Swedish riders.
Swedish national coach Henrik Ankarcrona has announced which home riders will get the chance this year: Jens Fredricson, Amanda Landeblad, Petronella Andersson, Erika Lickhammer Van-Helmond, Carl-Walter Fox, Erica Swarz Ryan, Douglas Lindelöw, Linda Heed, and Adam Carey join Henrik von Eckermann, Peder Fredricson, and Wilma Hellström.
"An exciting team. We're working once again to broaden the top level, and here we have both experienced names who have competed at the highest level and riders who are newer to the scene. Also, very interesting horses," says Swedish national coach Henrik Ankarcrona.
How do you view the international competition they will face?
"It's incredibly strong, which is, of course, fantastic. But we know that riders are always eager to come to Gothenburg. The competitions have an incredible tradition," says Ankarcrona.
